Bringing In The New Year

Happy New Year! Can you believe that it’s already the new year, 2020? Yeah me neither! It’s crazy how FAST 2019 has gone by. 2019 has been one of the hardest years, if not the hardest one in my life. However, I’m so grateful for all the lessons learn on a day-to-day basis. To welcome the new year, I decided to share with y’all some things that I am going to do to get started right! Keep reading to find some tips on how you can also bring in the new year!

Praying

My first step for bringing the new decade/year is to pray. I’m going to be honest, a lot of things happened in 2019 that really tested my faith. In a result, sometimes I would find myself doubting God despite the fact that I know He only wants what’s best for me. One verse that I found myself repeating during those times was Mark 9: 24 “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!“. It’s one of my favorite verse. So I planned to getting deeper and deeper into prayer, to thank God for the past decade and the past year, also to guide me through the new one.

Reflecting on 2019

Looking back at the past 12 months, I realized that there are many things that I could have done differently. However, everything happened for a reason that in a way or another helped me to grow and be stronger than ever before. I’m so thankful for every bit of alone time because every single seconds spent alone helped me discovered the hidden part of myself while also loving every little bit of myself. I’m so thankful for my family, my friends, all the ups and downs.

Daily devotional

I didn’t really do my daily devotional like I planned to. I got this devotional book “Jesus always” by Sarah Young and let’s just say that it wasn’t my favorite. In 2018, I read “Starting and Ending your day right” by Joyce Meyer and I liked it so much better. For 2020, I decided to get “Unshakable” by Christine Caine and I am so excited to read it! Therefore, I planned to do my daily devotional in the morning like I usually do and try to get deeper with it by doing a verse (Bible) study.

Daily journaling

I think every girl had a journal at a point in their childhood! I know that I did; I used to have several journals when I was younger. However, I would use them for silly stuff I guess. I started journaling at the end of January and it was literally one of the best decisions that I’ve made this year. And now, that I know what life is really about, I write about real stuff (emotions, issues, difficult situations and happy thoughts). Journaling has helped me so much in dealing with emotions, coping with stress, being a calmer person and so much more. It’s so hard for me to share my problems with others, therefore having a journal really kept me sane this year. I’ll link the one that I use right here! It’s so good and I’m already on my second one!

Making a vision board

I made my first vision board in 2019. I have wanted to make one since 2018, however, I wasn’t sure where and how to start. Therefore, I made lots of research about what a vision board was, then I created some main points (fitness, faith, travel, blog). Lastly, I printed some pictures related to my points off of Pinterest and to make the collage. For this new year, I want to do it differently; I am going to do it throughout January 2020 instead of December 2019. Also, I’m not sure if I want to do a big board like last year or if I’m gonna do a planner size one. Anyways, I want God to really work through me while I’m doing this one so I’m going to take my time with this vision board.

Start a new planner

I used to be that girl who buys a bunch of planners and never use them. Not in 2019 my friend! At the end of 2018, I got this cute planner from Amazon, I’ll link it eight here, and I actually used it! It was one of those goal-setting, motivational planner and it really help me stay on top of most of my tasks throughout the year. I guess that it all depends on what type of planner you get. Therefore, go with something cute, motivational, goal-setter, fun, a planner that you would actually want to use; instead of something boring. You can also use digital planner or your phone calendar. Trust me, it will help. I got a new planner for this year, and I can’t wait to start using it! I will also link it right here!

Rest

It is so important to take breaks from life every once in a while. I was scrolling through my IG feed, and most of the post were about getting ready for the new year, like trying to get your life together in a matter of 3-5 days! Like no! It’s okay to take your time and slowly getting in the New Year! You’ve probably worked tirelessly all year long, so don’t rush into anything. Rest, chill, sleep in, stay in your pj’s, do things that make you happy! I’m planning on doing just that for the first couple days of the new year!

And that’s how I plan to bring in the new year my friends! I pray that God will cover all of you and shower y’all with lots of blessings throughout this new year and decade. Thank you for your continued support on my blog, social medias; it truly means the world to me! I wish y’all the best for this new year! Let’s keep growing together!
