Last weekend, I went hiking with my best friend, Bedjina, who flew from FL for my birthday weekend! Thank God for best friends, right?! Before she came up here,I told her to bring some workout clothes and running shoes because hiking was one of the things I wanted to do for my birthday! Weird, right? Well, I love hiking and I thought it would be fun! Spoiler Alert: IT WAS!
We woke up a bit early, we had brunch then we went to my favorite hiking place! The initial goal was to do about 5-6k through the loops and through the mountains/woods. However, we got lost in the woods which happens pretty much every time I go hiking… At one point we had to go down this deep slippery cliff just so we could get back on the actual trail. The silver lining is we actually did over 8 mi, we had lots of fun and we saw so many beautiful views! I’m so glad we didn’t quit when our legs were hurting or when we were super tired because trust me, that was a 3 days workout!
Tip: When I go for a hike, I always try to do lunges , squats and stretches while walking so it can be more intense which means you burn more calories in less time.
Moral of the story: If you are serious about fitness and having a healthy lifestyle, NEVER GIVE UP; because trust me, you WILL get lost. However, as long as you keep going, you will break records, make new ones, have fun and see the results! So keep going and DO NOT GIVE UP!
