I wanted to adapt to a new night routine because I really needed some changes in my life. I’ve been trying to minimize the amount of time I spend daily on my phone especially on social medias. I’ve also been trying to read more, stretch/flow more and be in the present moment. I’m determined to make lots of changes which means that I had to create a new, healthy, night routine! So let’s dive in!
I usually finish my dinner around 7:00 PM. Depending on how I’m feeling, I might either grab my computer and write a blog post/Do some online work or I might just watch 2 episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Afterwards, I usually eat some light snack or drink some hot cocoa or some matcha latte or ginger tea. It all depends on what I’m in the mood for.
Then, I put a face mask on, brush my teeth and rinse out the face mask after 10/15 minutes depending on what the directions say. Afterwards, I roll out my yoga mat and do some flow/ deep stretching for about 10-15 minutes. Most of the time, I let my body move in whichever direction it wants to… Rarely, I go on YouTube for some deep stretching/yoga videos and I just follow along. I’ve also been trying to meditate right before or after my flow, however, that doesn’t happen every night .
Around 10:00 PM, I TRY to stay away from my phone by reading a book and write in my planner/journal as I crawl in my warm bed, under my cozy blanket. By the way, I’m currently reading “Becoming” by our forever First Lady, Michelle Obama and I highly recommend it to everyone! It’s a must read! I usually do my best to read one chapter at night before writing in my planner/journal. By the time I’m done reading the book and going through my planner, It’s usually past 10:30 PM. Therefore, I usually put my book and my planner away, grab my Bible, read a little bit, pray and go to bed.
Keep in mind that it does change, depending on my work schedule and so many other factors. However, That’s my most recent routine for the past couple of days and I’ve been loving it! Hopefully I can keep it up!
